Once again Zwift have teamed up with Dimension Data and Canyon/SRAM to host the Zwift Academy! As per the previous two years, to “graduate” the Academy you need to complete a a series of eight structured workouts plus four online races (or group rides) between now and September 1st.
I completed the Zwift Academy in 2017, but gave it a miss last year as I was mid way through a Sufferfest training program. I found the Sufferfest’s 4DP based training much more tailored and arguably gave better results, but the Zwift Academy was more motivating as you’re completing it at the same time as 1000’s of other cyclists. Plus for those lucky enough to be under 22 years old – and super strong on the bike – there’s the chance to gain a PRO CYCLING CONTRACT at the end of the program! I’m too old of course (and way too slow).
This year I’ve signed up for the Academy as a way of kick starting my summer fitness. The sunny southern hemisphere summer is just around the corner and I’ve got a bit of catching up to do! The training program officially starts today (August 5th) but there’s still time to sign up online if you want to give it a crack! #RideOn
