Don’t Quit Before the Miracle Happens!

“Don’t Quit Before the Miracle Happens!“

The other day I saw the above quote on Big Jim’s page, Fit Recovery. It really struck a chord with me. In fact I loved the quote so much that I’ve printed it on an A4 sheet and put one in my home office and another in my gym downstairs!

In essence, it sums up that struggle inside when you’re doing everything right, and you’ve seen early progress, but right now you can’t see any. You feel like nothing is working. But trust me, it is!

I’ve been guilty of giving up early in the past. Many times in fact. Whether that be part way through a tough training plan, or further back in my educational path, or even with minor projects around the property. I get too eager for faster results, even though I know that results take time.

Right now I really need that reminder. I’ve been “following the plan” with something (more in a future post) and I saw pretty good results early on, but it’s starting to get tough now. Some days I feel like I should just stop, but I know that nothing of value comes quickly. Often it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

It’s a great reminder of the need to be persistent even in the face of a plateau. Although I may not be seeing much change, deep down I know that gradual change is occurring. That change is the result of a long term, cumulative effort that can often feel relentless and unrewarding.

It may not be easy, and it may not be fun, but one thing is 100% certain. Giving up during the hardest stretch guarantees failure.

So this is your reminder (okay, my reminder) to keep grinding and the results WILL come!
