2017 into 2018

Another year! Seriously people, these modern years must be getting shorter and shorter because they seem to be absolutely flying by. It’s been a pretty damn good year for me. I’ve settled into Tassie life. My job is going well and gives me time to ride in the morning, I took an amazing holiday to Vietnam, bought a new motorbike (my first ever brand new vehicle purchase) and also our very own Tasmanian home! Most of all I’m healthy and happy.

This blog is just a little hobby of mine. I enjoy putting my thoughts down on the page and I am truly honoured that you are taking the time to read it. :-) Thank you. No really, thank you so much.

My reach has been growing steadily year on year since I started blogging here, but 2017 has been a surprise, clocking almost three times as many hits as last year. This was mostly due to a couple of much more popular posts. It seems people are very interested in finding out how long a Di2 battery lasts, what new smart trainer is the best and how Zwift hills compares to the real world!

As for New Years Eve, I’m not much of a party person. In fact lately it’s been a simple yet enjoyable dinner out with with wife followed by a movie. Usually back home and in bed before the clocks strike midnight. Tonight I’ll fire up the BBQ for a meal then watch something on Netflix. I always try and start the year with a New Years Day ride though. Hopefully tomorrow will be no different. I’ll wake up early and see how my still-slightly-battered body is feeling before I decide.

I hope you have all had a fantastic year too. So now it’s time to bid farewell to 2017 and look forward to 2018. Time to start setting goals and booking events. Here’s to what will hopefully be another great year on and off the bike! #keepcycling

    1. Thanks. I wish I knew beforehand what topics would be popular, I’d write more of those, haha!

I’m super happy with how the Planet X conversion turned out. Carries a bit of extra weight, but the aero certainly makes up for it when you’re bombing along at speed! Plus it just looks awesome.
