I probably say this EVERY year, but seriously where does the time go?!?! It’s been a year that’s for sure. I didn’t ride as many miles as I’d hoped. A combination of a good (and busy) year at work plus other commitments meant my mileage slipped in the second half. It’s all good though, I enjoyed every single mile I did manage to pedal.
I rounded out the year with a handful of fantastic rides. The weather has really put on a show and combined with taking a little time off over the festive period it meant I was able to get out and enjoy some quiet road miles most days.
One of my favourite rides was with my best mate Carl. We’d actually never ridden together before (apart from virtually) as we live in different states – and at one point different countries – so it was long overdue and a cracking ride. I got to show him some of my local roads. We even knocked off one of Hobart’s Top 10 Climbs, Bonnet Hill along the way.
This morning I snuck out for my final ride for the year – an enjoyable 120km / 75 mile jaunt in the stunning Tasmanian summer sunshine. I really am blessed with some great roads and great weather out here. It may not have been a bumper mileage year, but it was a fantastic one all the same!
I hope you all had a relaxing Christmas with family and friends. I’m not one for New Years Eve celebrations so I’ll be hitting the pillow early after catching up with friends. Maybe I’ll even get up early and knock off that first ride of Twenty Twenty! Take care, thank you as always for reading and of course, keep those pedals turning!
