All good things must come to an end…

You may or may not have seen the news by now. If not, let me get you up to speed. The Ironman Group recently sold FulGaz to a competing virtual cycling app, Rouvy. Ironman did not include any FulGaz staff in the deal so around a week ago, the entire FulGaz team (myself included) were made redundant.

I could go into a lot more detail regarding this, but for various reasons, I won’t. If you’d like to know more, Ray over at DC Rainmaker wrote a very informative piece regarding the acquisition process.

DC Rainmaker: Ironman Sells FulGaz to Rouvy

I’ve had a fantastic time working with FulGaz for the past few years. It really was about as close to a “dream job” as I could imagine.

I put everything into crafting the best possible customer experience for new and existing FulGaz riders, and enjoyed almost every single day. It has been an absolute pleasure and quite the journey, but all journeys eventually conclude. This has for sure been an incredible chapter in my life.

So what now? To be honest I’m not 100% sure. I’m over at the Tour Down Under in Adelaide for a few days. A perfect opportunity to clear my head and catch up with some industry people.

I’m going to go ride my bike… ❤️

Gutted for you and the other Fulgaz staff Klem. It must have been a massive shock for everyone.

Enjoy your time at TDU and hopefully you can make a few useful contacts.

I am so sorry to hear of your “without notice” termination.

Are you one of those that Rouvy is now scrambling to retain to keep things on the rails?

Very best wishes for good things in the near future.

    1. Thanks. Unfortunately I was not one of them, and I don’t think anyone from FulGaz has stayed on even temporarily.
