“…and what have you done?” – John Lennon
I hope you all are having a lovely and relaxing break, taking the time to unwind while enjoying the company of loved ones.
Another year has quite literally flown by! My cycling has taken a bit of a back seat to other aspects of life this year, but I’m okay with that. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind since moving to Tassie. Work has been busy and on the up (beats the alternative) plus of course April and I finally bought and moved into our very own Tasmanian home! So it’s no surprise that my overall mileage has dropped off. Getting heavily into Zwift on my Tacx NEO has helped with that. In fact it totally saved my fitness for many months!
Of course, having a few extra days off over the Christmas break means it’d be rude not to get a few extra miles in on the bike! This morning I got up early to rock out a solo 50km before getting back in time to fire up the BBQ and cook a big breakfast for our guests. It wasn’t a smash fest, my Christmas day ride is always one of solo “me time” to take in the year gone by and remember all the good things that have happened. A time to enjoy the passing scenery, recognise how lucky I am.
So whatever you may be doing today and whoever you may be spending it with, be sure to take a moment to step back, breathe deeply, really take in your surroundings and appreciate how blessed you are to live the life you do. :-) Merry Christmas to you all.
and a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year to you. Its too windy to cycle here safely today

Definitely did. Lots of snow though, and plenty of cold. It’s currently -3 but feels like -15… In your neck of the world, that’s -26 C.

Merry Christmas! Thanks for a great year! Snow is thwarting my #festive500, but I did manage to get more miles this year. Best!
