Wow! Another year is drawing to a close (and closing in fast here in Australia). I know I’ve been a little bit “missing in action” here recently, but I’ve had to reprioritise a few things. Circumstance, you know? I’m hoping I can get back into the swing of regular posts again in 2025.

As for 2024? It was an absolute blast of a year on two wheels. I was lucky enough to go on a couple of fantastic trips, and I’ve made some memories that I will carry for years to come. I think 2024 might just have been my best year on the bike ever. It’s going to be hard to top this year, that’s for sure.

I hit every cycling goal that I set for myself at the beginning of the year. Distance, elevation gain, and events. The Tour de Brisbane Gran Fondo Qualifier was a top race, as was IRONMAN Cairns.

A massive highlight of course was the Tour Down Under trip with my FulGaz crew. Adelaide is hands down awesome during the event week or two. If you ever get the chance, go!

Adelaide during the Tour Down Under is a feast of epic riding roads, sweet summer weather, full pro cycling atmosphere, and all that goes along with that. Good times!

To everyone I have ridden with this year (and sheltered behind) a massive thank you! I couldn’t have done this without you. You are all true legends. The one thing better than miles on two wheels is sharing those miles with great company.

And to every single one of you who has taken the time to click on one of my posts, a huge thanks to you too. I really do appreciate you all. Without you, I’d simply be typing away into the ether. I hope you all had a fantastic year, both on and off the bike.

For now though, it’s farewell to an epic 2024 from your wannabe pro cyclist pal in Tassie. Keep those pedals turning and the rubber side on the road. Catch you all next year!
