We’ve all noticed it. That gradual transition. The evenings are getting ever so slightly darker, the winds are picking up, and that early morning chill lingering in the air may even have you reaching for a gilet. Summer is sliding away and the first signs of an impending Autumn are creeping in.
Today, the 28th of February, is officially the last day of Summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Turning the page on the calendar from February to March signals that inevitable turn of the season. You can’t fight it, change is inescapable, you’ve simply got to accept and embrace it.
I can’t complain. It’s been a fantastic summer of cycling! There’s been trips to Adelaide for the Tour Down Under, epic Beach Road bunch riding in Melbourne, and of course plenty of local hammer fests as well. It’s been grand!
Not to worry though, there are many scenic Autumn miles to look forward to!
Your summer may be ending, but our winter is far from over! (Though today was rain, not snow.)
