I think summer has finally arrived in the UK (for the south at least). Got my climbing legs out yesterday for 72 sunny miles with over 5200 feet of elevation gain including five of Surrey’s peaks; Staple Lane, Crocknorth, Leith Hill, Box Hill and Ranmore.
I started off solo and met up with a bunch of Woking CC riders after chasing their group to the top of Crocknorth. A great ride with fantastic company!
A few of the guys are riding the closed-roads Wales Velothon next weekend so it was a final lumpy test of the legs for them. As for me, my legs are feeling pretty good. Tonight is of course Wiggo’s attempt at the hour record so I’ll be joining a few Woking CC folk to watch that somewhere local. Bring on the summer! #keepcycling
1600m climbing is better than I can manage in a session. Nice!
